A Bit About Me
Sun A Kang, hailed as a "passionate, delicate, considerate, and outstanding pianist" by Ivan Moravec, is a graduate of Sun Hwa Arts High School in South Korea. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree with advanced graduation standing from Manhattan School of Music under the guidance of Zenon Fishbein. Continuing her musical journey, she completed her master's degree at Mannes College of Music with Pavlina Dokovska, receiving a scholarship. Sun A also holds a music education degree from New York University, studying with Eteri Andjaparidze, and served as an adjunct faculty member from 2014 to 2016.
Her accolades include victories in South Korean competitions, such as the National Students Music Competition and the Kyung-Hyang Music Newspaper Piano Competition. Sun earned the second prize and a scholarship at the International Prague Music Festival, where she was later invited back on a full scholarship. Her performances have graced prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Yamaha Concert Hall, Mozart Concert Hall, and Brevnov Hall in Prague.
Sun A Kang began her teaching career in 2010 at Park Conservatory in New Jersey. Since then, she has taught students in New York, Long Island, South Korea, Nevada, Virginia, and Minnesota. She is currently a member of both the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and her piano studio is based in Edina, Minnesota.

Her students have achieved remarkable success. In 2024, one student won first prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition and earned the prestigious opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City. That same year, three students were named winners in the MMTA Piano Contest. In 2025, nine of her students were selected as winners of the MMTA Piano Contest. Sun was also honored to serve as a judge at the MMTA Piano Contest Finals.

About Me.
Bitna Jeong is a highly dedicated and accomplished pianist as well as an active collaborative
musician. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, under the mentorship of Paul Shaw. In addition, she is
undertaking secondary studies in Music Education under the guidance of Keitha Lucas
Hamann, further expanding her expertise in pedagogy.
Bitna earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from California State University,
Northridge, where she studied under Dmitry Rachmanov and received both the Dr. Robert W.
Wienpahl Scholarship and the William Richard Memorial Scholarship. She then completed her
Master of Music in Piano Performance at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University,
studying with Benjamin Pasternack and earning a merit-based scholarship. Additionally, her
studies included a minor in Organ Performance with Daniel Aune, which further enhanced her
versatility as a musician.
Throughout her career, Bitna has performed across South Korea, the United States, and
Canada, including in notable cities such as Baltimore, Los Angeles, Montreal, Minneapolis, and
Seoul. Her repertoire spans classical masterworks to contemporary compositions, reflecting her
wide-ranging musical interests.
In addition to her performance work, Bitna is a passionate educator with over a decade of
experience. She has provided private lessons and collaborated with young musicians at
prestigious institutions. Her students have excelled in the Music Teachers’ Association of
California (MTAC) Certificate of Merit program and have won top awards, including the Young
Pianist award at the Southwestern Youth Music Festival (SYMF). With a patient and
personalized approach, Bitna is dedicated to nurturing musical abilities and inspiring students of
all ages to achieve their fullest potential.
